Outpatient Care
The Pavilion offers outpatient care conveniently located in Hampton, Virginia.
Our outpatient care offerings include partial hospitalization (PHP) and intensive outpatient programs (IOP). These levels of care provide intensive treatment to adult individuals and families with mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and other psychiatric disorders. Patients can join the program directly from the initial point of assessment and referral or step down from our Inpatient Unit. This provides the client with the unique option of receiving treatment from the Pavilion throughout the continuum of care. This helps to insure a more robust treatment experience and a positive outcome for the client as they transition back into their new daily routine with the wrap around support of their treatment team.
Outpatient Care Treatment is for individuals experiencing:
- Psychosis
- Suicidal Thoughts
- Thoughts of Harm to Others
- Depression
- Anxiety
- Bipolar Disorder
- Schizophrenia
- Isolation
Partial Hospitalization Program - PHP
Designed as a step-down program from inpatient care or for those requiring a highly intensive and structured day program that allows them to return home each evening.
- 5 days per week, Monday – Friday.
- Person-centered care, evidence-based approach.
- Lunch provided.
Intensive Outpatient Program - IOP
This program serves individuals who want to maintain their everyday lives – but also need more intensive therapy than traditional outpatient office visits.
- 3 days per week, Monday, Wednesday, Friday.
- 9 AM to 12 PM

Our outpatient services offer group therapy, continued physician oversight, and medication management, allowing patients to continue living at home while attending the outpatient center during the day. Our goal is to help patients achieve further stabilization and transition back to productive activities at home, work, and in the community. We serve nutritionally balanced lunch and snacks daily and provide affordable transportation services upon request.
What is Day Treatment?
Day Treatment, or a Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP), is designed for individuals with primary psychiatric disorders who require intensive support and structure but not 24-hour inpatient care. Patients attend PHP five days per week for six hours a day, after which they can return home in the evening.
Outpatient Day Treatment
Outpatient Day Treatment, also called an Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP), provides further stabilization in a therapeutic environment for patients who do not require the structure of a full-day program like our PHP. Patients attend IOP three days per week for three hours a day, which allows them greater flexibility to manage other commitments with their families, work, or other treatment professionals.
